EZ1 VOICES: NAZ Solar Part 1: Unboxing the EZ1 – Simple Setup
As one of APsystems’ certified EZ1 distributors, NAZ Solar Electric put the EZ1-LV plug-in solar microinverter to the test, demonstrating just how simple it can be to start generating solar power with a standard household outlet.
The video highlights the growing plug-in solar movement, including new regulations in states like Utah that allow consumers to install qualifying systems without permits. Designed specifically for these applications, the EZ1-LV connects directly to two solar panels and plugs into a standard 120V receptacle, making it easy to offset household energy usage without a traditional rooftop installation.
For the demonstration, NAZ Solar Electric paired the EZ1 with two 400W Jinko solar modules mounted on an adjustable Integra rack. The rack’s built-in adjustment points provided a convenient mounting location for the microinverter while allowing the array angle to be optimized for solar production.
NAZ Solar Electric also walks through the AP EasyPower monitoring app, showing real-time production data, historical performance tracking, and system statistics. During the demonstration, the test system was producing more than 660 watts from its 800W solar array.
“The cool thing about balcony solar is you can reduce your utility bill without needing to get a permit.”
For consumers, the EZ1 offers a simple way to begin generating solar energy with minimal installation requirements. For installers, it creates an opportunity to introduce new customers to solar and build relationships that may eventually lead to larger residential energy projects.
